Homemade Fiery Hot Sauce Recipe

Spice up your dishes with this homemade fiery hot sauce! Made with a blend of chili peppers and spices, this sauce is perfect for giving your food an extra kick. The recipe is customizable based on how much heat you like. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 20 fresh chili peppers (you can use jalapeños, habaneros, or a mix depending on your heat preference)
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the peppers: Start by cutting off the stems of the peppers. If you want a less spicy sauce, you can remove the seeds and membranes. Be sure to wear gloves during this step to avoid chili burn.
  2. Cook the sauce: In a medium-sized pot, add peppers, garlic, onion, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the peppers and onions are very soft.
  3. Blend the sauce: Once the mixture has cooled slightly, pour it into a blender, including the cooking liquid. Blend until smooth. For a smoother sauce, you can strain it through a fine-mesh sieve, but this step is optional.
  4. Season the sauce: Return the blended mixture to the pot and simmer for another 10 minutes. Add lime juice and additional salt if needed.
  5. Bottle the sauce: Let the hot sauce cool completely. Pour it into sterilized glass bottles or jars and seal tightly.
  6. Store: Store your homemade fiery hot sauce in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to 6 months.

Enjoy this fiery hot sauce on tacos, burritos, eggs, grilled meats, or anything else that needs a spicy kick!

Note: The acidity from the vinegar should keep this sauce preserved for a while, but always check for signs of spoilage before using. Always use clean utensils when handling the sauce to avoid introducing bacteria.
